Damage Estimate Underwriting

• Assess vehicle damage from photos, inspection data, and condition reports and determine the appropriate repair or reconditioning path
• Write accurate, itemized damage estimates that reflect the true cost to return a vehicle to standard
• Apply consistent judgment across vehicles, damage types, and markets so similar damage is priced the same way every time

Automated Estimate Review & Quality Control

• Review damage estimates generated by Flexcar’s automated damage-estimation process for accuracy and completeness
• Catch and correct over- and under-estimates, mis-identified damage, and missed items before they flow downstream
• Flag patterns in automated errors and partner with the team improving the model to make automated output more reliable over time

Standard Cost Schedule Development

• Help design and maintain Flexcar’s standard cost schedule for vehicle damage
• Define damage costs by type (e.g., scratch vs. dent), size and severity, body part or panel, and vehicle model year and trim
• Keep the cost schedule current as parts, labor rates, and vehicle mix change, and document the rationale so pricing stays transparent and defensible

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Partner with fleet, reconditioning, and operations teams to keep estimates aligned with real repair costs and turnaround
• Support the damage chargeback process with estimates that are fair to customers and hold up to scrutiny
• Provide the subject-matter expertise that helps calibrate automated tooling and damage policy

• Deep, hands-on knowledge of vehicle damage and repair: you can look at damage and know what it takes to fix it and what it should cost
• Strong attention to detail: you catch the missed panel or the mispriced line before it becomes a bad estimate
• Sound, consistent judgment; you price similar damage the same way regardless of who is watching
• Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and structured cost schedules
• Able to review automated output critically, without either rubber-stamping it or fighting it
• A clear communicator who can explain and defend an estimate
• Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and stays organized across many vehicles at once
• Experience as a damage appraiser, auto damage estimator, collision estimator, or auto insurance adjuster
• Familiarity with estimating platforms (e.g., Audatex) and standard estimating logic
• Body shop, collision repair, or vehicle reconditioning background
• Experience with used-vehicle inspection, remarketing, or fleet reconditioning
